If you're interested in computer science, come to the third annual HoCo Hacks Hackathon! High school students from around the county will gain programming experience by spending the day coding a project that fits the theme presented at the event.

A celebration of Howard County’s rich cultural diversity! What: 5k Run/Walk & 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk Followed by cultural performances, displays, and food for participants and spectators! When: April 2, 2017 Family Fun Run begins at 9 am, 5k begins at 9:30 am

The Black Student Union of Long Reach High will present's it's first Celebration of the National Women's Month entitled "24 k Tribute and Fashion Extravaganza" to recognize the achievements of all women

Don’t miss this last chance – to come to a Leadership U Information session!! Give your sophomore the opportunity to have an experience that will be a highlight of his or her high school career. Come hear from LU grads and learn what the program is all about. Our final information session is Thursday, March 2 at Miller Library from 7-8pm. Parents and students in both 9th and 10th grade are encouraged to attend.

ASVAB sign-ups are currently taking place in Student Services at Long Reach High School. If you are considering joining the military take the ASVAB to prepare you for the enlistment process. The test will be administered on March 28th at the LRHS Cafeteria at 7:30AM. Please sign up with Ms. Quinn in Student Services ASAP.

Junior Interview Day is an event held every year for Junior students that allows all Juniors to participate in a mock interview with a community business leader. Completing this interview process is a part of Howard County graduation requirements, and it assists students in building interview skills as well as resume writing skills. These skills are essential for all students to work and improve upon as they become college and career ready. This year’s Junior Interview Day will be March 22nd.

Join our new group of student ambassadors participating in Columbia Association’s Sister Cities High School Student Exchange. Immerse yourself in another culture, living with a family in France, Spain or Ghana. Improve your language skills and have fun while exploring new places and meeting teens your age. Spend two weeks in July in one of Columbia’s sister cities — Cergy-Pontoise (France), Tres Cantos (Spain) or Tema (Ghana) — living with a teen your age, then host the same teen here for two weeks.
