Community Clothes Drive

Community Clothes Drive 9-11am, Saturday Nov. 2, 2019 Long Reach High School Cafeteria If you want to come to get FREE clothes, jackets for winter, shoes for all ages, children to adult, please come early. Lines start at 7:30am outside. If you would like to volunteer to unload clothes Friday night or Saturday morning, please contact Mrs. Herrera at heather_herrera@hcpss.org.

PSAT Day, October 16, 2019:

All 9th – 11th grade students will be participating in the administration of the PSAT on Wednesday, October 16. All students have been pre-registered. Students should look at posted lists after Wednesday at the Media Center, Student Services and in the Atrium to find their testing location. Please bring a scientific calculator to use for the test. What Will Seniors do on PSAT Day?

Junior Achievement of Maryland

Junior Achievement of Central Maryland: Applications are now open for the 2019 Fall Cohort of Rising Women for female students grades 9th-12th who are interested in business and entrepreneurship.

Community Circles Series

As part of our One Long Reach Initiative, we will be continuing our Community Circle Series. The series is designed to create dialogue and help process important topics throughout the school year. Our next circle will be on October 10 from 5pm to 8pm at Long Reach High School and is open to all members of the LRHS Community.

MD Learner Permit Test at LRHS, 10/17

The first administration of the Maryland Learner's Permit Test will be given on October 17 in the media center immediately after school. 50 seats will be available. No walk-ins. Please print out the permission slip in the link and return to Mrs. Jaksec no later than October 9. If you have any questions please contact cindy_selber@hcpss.org.

Youth in Conversation

Youth in Conversation (YIC) is inviting all interested high school students to meet twice a month to have facilitated dialogues and create Podcasts. Our goals are to address the challenges and gifts of diversity, teach dialogue skills to use in difficult conversations and provide leadership opportunities for students to create environments where all feel welcome. The first meeting for the 2019-2020 school year will be on October 14. Email Rebecca Dietz at hoco.convo@gmail.com for more information and to sign up.
