How do I get support from my counselor in the summer?
Counselors and caseloads are listed below. All caseloads are by alphabet grades 9-12.
While School Counselors do not work full time in the summer, we do work additional summer days throughout. To contact us, please send us an email and we will respond.

Who do I contact to register to come to Long Reach High School?
Registrations are a multistep process, including online registration and contacting Mr. James Mackin, james_mackin@hcpss.org. Once registered we will connect you with your child’s counselor to complete the process and develop a schedule.

My child plans to get a summer job, where can I find work permit information?
The department of labor website has the work permit application and various information/regulations for employment of minors. http://dllr.state.md.us/labor/wages/empm.shtml
My child is trying to get their learner’s permit. How do I get the MVA form signed while schools are closed?
The MVA recently changed the driver’s permit form and schools no longer need to verify attendance. Parents/guardians are able to complete the new form here: https://mva.maryland.gov/Documents/DL-300A.pdf

We will be holding two virtual support sessions this summer. These sessions are voluntary and we will be covering the same information with students and parents during the first couple weeks of school.
