Student and Family Scheduling Night 1/6/2022

Our annual scheduling night will be held virtually on 1/6/2022, from 7:00pm-8:30pm. We will have a video introduction and then live information sessions for families and students, as well as time to speak directly to teachers and ask questions.

Winter Break Covid-19 Information

I want to take a moment to share some information about how to handle a positive Covid test result or symptoms over Winter Break. If your child tests positive for Covid-19, please have them isolate for ten days from the date of the positive test. If the ten days continues past winter break, they may not return to school until those ten days have completed. As a reminder, please do not send your child to school if they are sick. Course Registration/Selection for 2022-2023 has begun!

Course registration for the 2022-2023 school year has begun! During Lightning Time today students watched a presentation including a video on the scheduling process and received materials to guide them through the course selection and registration process.

March2Future: Dual Enrollment Process and the Impact on Course Registration

HCPSS has an abundance of opportunities for students including Dual Enrollment. This includes taking classes at your high school or on the HCC campus for college credit. In this session, students will learn about all the options and understand how these experiences can connect to your post high school plans. We will hear from HCC, Dual enrollment teachers and students who have taken dual enrollment courses.

Winter Help Drive

We know that families are continuing to experience unprecedented levels of challenges, so throughout the rest of the semester we will be checking in with our students even more often than we normally do. Our plan is to offer gift cards to families and provide community information that will support clothing, housing, etc. As part of the Winter Help Drive, there is a new school store that was created by our Pupil Personal Worker, Elizabeth Dolan, for students who may be experiencing a hardship and need certain materials.

Black History Celebration Auditions

BSAP and BSU are holding auditions Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 after school in the Atrium for our Black History Celebrations in February. We need singers, actors, dancers, steppers, rappers, spoken word, and both Male and Female Models. ALL ARE Welcome to audition. We welcome diversity.

Substance Misuse and Prevention Presentation

The health, safety, and well-being of our students is a priority for our school community. With this in mind, we have partnered with the HCPSS, Howard County Department of Public Health and HCDrugFree to develop a presentation on the topic of substance misuse and prevention strategies.

Beyond School Hours Update

Beyond School Hours is now offering French and Chinese support. French tutoring is on Mondays and Chinese tutoring is on Wednesdays. Check out other sessions being offered here:
