One Long Reach Day, March 28

On March 28 Long Reach will be hosting its third OneLongReach Day for the 2017/2018 school year. Our goal through all OneLongReach Initiatives is to grow belonging and togetherness within our school community so that we can create authentic and postive relationships, challenge marginalization, and promote inclusion. On Thursday 100 students and 20 staff members will experience activities in the gym facilitated through our partnerships with the HCPSS Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Howard County Government #OneHoward Initiative. A sincere thanks to Bright Minds Howard County for their generous support.

Singing in the Rain

Come out to see Singin' in the Rain at Long Reach H.S. Singin' in the Rain is about silent movie stars, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, their new movie is turned into a Musical once the cast and crew figure out talking movies are all the rage. A certain girl catches Don's eye and helps him make this new movie musical. Find out what happens next. Singin' in the Rain will be showing at LRHS on February 1st and 2nd. The time it will be showing is 7pm and tickets are $8 at the door.

AP Exam Registration and Celebration

Today we celebrated Long Reach’s current AP Students and presented important information about the 2018 AP Exams. Registration for exams begins February 1st and ends March 15th.

Winter Message from the Health Room

As you all know, it is flu season, and many people are being affected by it. Here, at Long Reach, we are doing our best to keep our kids healthy and safe. If your child is sick, please keep your child at home to recover.

Leadership U Class of 2018

Is your student looking for leadership opportunities? Does he or she want to make a difference? Consider joining the Leadership U Class of 2018! Leadership U is an exciting leadership, teambuilding, and community service opportunity for current high school sophomores. This unique four-month program involves a week-long summer program of hands-on activities, as well as involvement in a team community service project.

Midterm Motivation, January 16-18!

With midterms quickly approaching we are providing our 9th grade students with an opportunity to get extra help with study skills and midterm preparation. Midterm Motivation will allow 9th grade students the opportunity to get help in the following courses: English 9, Algebra 1, Geometry G/T, Algebra 2 G/T, Earth Science, Biology, Spanish and French 1/2, Lifetime Fitness, Health, and US History.
