We are writing to invite any alumni to LRHS Alumni day on Thursday, December 20, 2018. The event will run from 9:00-10:30 a.m. It will begin with pastries and juice in the Student Services office. You will then be dismissed to a classroom to share your first-hand experiences with work and/or college life with current students. Please sign in at the Main Office and obtain a visitors pass before coming to student services.

Congressman Elijah Cummings will host his22nd Annual How to Pay for College Seminar on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maryland Institute College of Art Brown Center located at 1301 West Mount Royal Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland.
After Prom 2019 Fundraising!

The PTSA is getting an early start gathering donations for After Prom! With Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday coming up, please consider adding an extra item to your cart to donate as an After Prom Prize! More information here! We are also accepting cash/credit card donations. For every $20 donation, you will receive an entry in our Prom Package Raffle, which includes Prom tickets, After Prom tickets, a corsage and boutonniere package, and $250 in cash! This year’s theme, “Heroes Around Me,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. In the spirit of thanksgiving, the Physical Education and Athletics Departments want to express their appreciation to all the members of the Long Reach community, faculty and staff, Principal Wasilewski, Leadership Classes and especially the Long Reach High School Boosters for their contributions to the improvements recently made to the school’s weight room. Heavily used dumbbells were replaced and a new set with a rack was added. Safety arms for squat racks and additional safety catches were added. Resistance Bands that can be used in addition to or in place of weights for exercises were also purchased. Josh Davey and Ted Goeres also built a Deadlift Platform to compliment additional Rubber Barbell plates purchased for heavy lifting programs. All combined, made for a terrific improvement in our school’s strength and conditioning programs. Thank you again to everyone involved!
Music Department Citrus Fruit Fundraiser

LRHS Music Department is having a citrus fruit fundraiser. Below is a link with the brochure and prices. There are some lovely gift cartons for the holidays. The delivery will be @ Dec. 15th but we will send out a definite date/time when the Florida Indian River Groves has received orders from all the schools in the area. Their fruit has NOT been impacted with any of the hurricanes or weather. Deadline to order is Thursday, Nov. 8th. All checks are made payable to Long Reach HS Music Boosters. Your support to the music department is greatly appreciated .

Testing Database Purchased for Library Resources

Testing Database Purchased for Library Resources: The Media Center is in the 2nd year of a new testing database available to all students. The Gale Testing and Education Reference Center database has several practice tests and supporting resources for AP tests, entrance exams for colleges, SAT and ACT help, and more. Students can access this through the databases link in their MackinVia account through hcpss.me. Please see the Media Specialists in the library if you have any questions.
1st Annual Long Reach Food and Clothes Drive

ARL Shadow Day

Attention 9th and 10th graders: Do you want to learn more about the Career Academies at the ARL? Attend a Shadow Day at ARL in November to see the academies in action. Permission slips are available from Student Services and are due back on November 9th.
