Materials Collection and Distribution

Thu, 01/21/2021 - 1:24pm

Dear LRHS students and families,

In preparation for the second semester of the 2020-2021 School Year, we are sharing information related to the collection of materials in your possession from Semester 1 and the distribution of new materials for use.

Please know that our number one priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of every student, staff member, and family member during this process. We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

Students and parents/guardians should remain in their cars during drop-off and pick-up of materials. Students and parents/guardians who will walk/bike to the school should also adhere to social distancing expectations throughout the process and will be directed by HCPSS staff upon arrival.

Students and parents/guardians must wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times

Materials Drop-Off Details

We will hold a collection of all items on Thursday, January 28 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.  We will only accept items from LRHS.  If you have items from another school (high school or middle school), please drop them off at that school.  Students will need to bring the following school-owned materials for return:

  • Textbooks
  • Media/library materials
  • Any other obligations or items belonging to LRHS or HCPSS
  • Athletic equipment
  • Musical instruments (**only if the student is not continuing in band or orchestra)

Before Arriving for Material Drop-Off

Label EACH book by subject area, i.e. Library, Science, Social Studies, English, CTE, Music, etc., using a plastic grocery store bag. Include this Material/Book Collection Form either inside or on the bag. Make sure you fill in ALL of your information on the form!

Upon arrival at the school parking lot, follow the established traffic pattern.  Arrive using the main entrance into the parking lot per the map. See the map below:

Safety Precautions

You are required to wear a face mask at all times while dropping off items. As a reminder, it is critical that families and staff maintain all social distancing practices and families remain in their vehicles.  We ask that all families follow the directions of the staff members present during drop off to ensure everyone's safety.

All materials returned will sit for a four-day period as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, prior to being inventoried.

Semester 2 Distribution

Distribution of materials for Semester 2 is tentatively scheduled for February 10th.  Information will be sent by the end of January. Please make sure you have cleared any/all obligations so you can pick up your new materials.
