The Class of 2021 (sophomore class) is currently running 2 fundraisers. Please consider taking part in at least one of them.
The Shoe Collection Fundraiser - The date has been extended to June 7. We need 2500 pairs of gently used shoes! As you do your spring cleaning and come across any shoes you want to get rid of please bring them to us, the collection box is in the front office:)
Spring Yankee Candle Fundraiser - 4/2 - 4/24. You can order on line or pick an order packet in the front office. On line orders please use Group #990063358.
The Class of 2021 (sophomore class) had their 2nd and final assembly/ meeting today during 6th period. Please see below our what we talked about. If you have any questions, please contact either Mrs. Flood or Mrs. Davenport.
APRIL 2 CLASS OF 2021 ASSEMBLY AGENDA
1. Welcome and overview of meeting – Mrs. Flood opened the meeting with the expectations of our assembly and an overview of what was going to be covered.
2. Admin speaks – Mr. Wasilewski spoke to students about the importance of the assembly and encouraged students to take part in sophomore class fundraisers and to finish the year strong!
3. Student Services Speaks – Mrs. Moore spoke about the importance of 4th quarter grades, summer school, GPA and college, how many credits are needed to graduate, and the importance of your sophomore and junior year when applying to colleges. If anyone has questions about signing up for summer school, how many credits they have or need, or just general class questions please see your guidance counselor.
4. Fundraisers – Our Class Council Students went over our current shoe donation fundraiser and the Yankee Candle Fundraiser.
5. Class Rings and Ring Ceremony – Our Class Council Students went over ordering Class Rings and the Ring Ceremony that will take place at the beginning of next year.
6. Class T Shirt – Our Class Council Students went over the class T Shirt for next year. T shirts will be available for Homecoming. They will be black. Students that are interested in designing the T shirt are to submit their artwork to Mrs. Flood or Mrs. Davenport.
7. Prom – Our Class Council Students went over where the Prom will be (BWI Marriott) next year. Date TBA.
8. Recap – Mrs. Flood explained more about the fundraisers. We will have done 3 fundraisers by the end of this year. All fundraiser money will go towards the prom next year – the Class of 2021 will be hosting. We have completed the Little Caesar’s fundraiser (thank you to everyone that took part). Students that sold more than 10 items will get some money off of their prom ticket next year. Mrs. Flood is keeping records. The current fundraiser is our gently used shoe fundraiser. We have collected over 200 pairs so far, our goal is 2500 pairs. We have a chance to make around $1000.00 by just collecting and bagging shoes. As you begin your spring cleaning please send any gently used shoes our way – Ends June 7. Tell your friends and family too!!! Our last fundraiser that begins today is the Yankee Candle fundraiser. Students that sell 10 or more items will get some money off of their prom ticket next year. Order Packets are available in the front office. You can also order on line – go to www.yankeecandlefundraising.com - enter 990063358 for the Group Number. Be sure to put your students name in so they get credit.
9. Mrs. Davenport explained more about the prom and the tradition of the Juniors hosting. Also, how important it is that we raise as much money now as possible to keep costs down and to have a truly nice prom. She also explained about the ordering of Class Rings through Herff Jones. There is a payment plan available. Rings ordered the current school year will be presented to the students at a formal Ring Ceremony at the beginning of next year.
