Attendance Information for Parents

How do you communicate to Long Reach when your child is absent/sick?

  • You may either send an e-mail to LRHSattendance@hcpss.org.
  • Send in a note with your child and place it in the black tray on Ms. DeVore’s desk.

Notes or e-mails must be sent within two days of absence and must contain:

  • Student’s first and last name
  • Date of absence(s)
  • Reason for absence
  • Parent/guardian signature (if a hard copy note).

Please do not call the school when your child is absent.

What are the procedures for early dismissals?

Parents/Guardians and Emergency contacts listed in the Family File in the Student Information System must present identification (driver’s license) in the front office to dismiss a student from class.

Do you receive any notification when your child is absent or tardy?

Yes. Parents will receive an e-mail and phone call.  E-mails are sent at 11 am from the Student Information System (Synergy) if your child was absent or tardy from school. A phone call will be made by an automatic system starting at 6:00 pm if your child was absent or tardy unexcused.
