On Wednesday, January 18, HCPSS, HCPD and HC DrugFree Urge You to Attend A Drug-Free Community Dialogue. Join us at "Voices for a Drug-Free CommUNITY," to discuss challenges and solutions to the current drug epidemic. The event will take place in the cafeteria at Wilde Lake High School from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18. Speakers include County Executive Allan Kittleman, Superintendent Renee Foose, HCPD Chief Gary Gardener, and HC DrugFree Executive Director Joan Webb Scornaienchi.
HC DrugFree Teen Advisory Council (TAC): HC DrugFree’s Teen Advisory Council is open to all Howard County high school students and community service hours are available. The next meeting will be on Monday, February 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Barn (Teen Center) in the Oakland Mills Village Center. Free pizza is provided. Teens must complete the registration form found on the Teen Advisory web atwww.hcdrugfree.org, and RSVP to Admin@hcdrugfree.org.
HC DrugFree Category in HoCo FilmFest: HC DrugFree is partnering with the student-run HoCo Film Festival and looking for film-savvy teens to create Public Service Announcements (PSAs) focusing on alcohol/drug free alternatives to dealing with stress. PSAs will be shared across Howard County. The 2017 HoCo Film Festival will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Charles E. Miller Library in Ellicott City. The deadline for films will be 11:59 p.m. on February 18.
