This week students are participating in Hour of Code. All of our earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics classes have been invited to participate in one of two activities. Our underclassmen are completing in activities to learn how to animate figures, draw flags from around the world, and create games: all through coding. Our upperclassmen are applying coding to Ardunio's. They are programming to change the color of an LED light and spin a motor for a fan. Our goal is that students can be engaged in activities which allow them to explore coding and see the career opportunities in a variety of fields from digital arts to electronics to game design.
After students participated, they are signing our HOUR of CODE wall in the media center.
Science National Honor Society has created a video which will be shown to the classes to promote the Hour of Code at our school. https://drive.google.com/a/hcpss.org/file/d/0B4et8bogmhpcOFdJUVhHbFFtWkU/view?usp=sharing
