Parents,
On October 10, 2018, all 10th- and 11th-graders took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and all 9th-graders took the Preliminary SAT 8/9 test. Your student’s results are being sent home starting this week.
PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 Testing
The PSAT/NMSQT, administered by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, measures skills in evidence-based reading and writing (160–760 points) and mathematics (160–760 points). The PSAT 8/9 measures the same areas on a scale of 120-720 points per section.
The College Board has designed the SAT Suite of Assessments with a common scale. This new design allows scores on the PSAT to be comparable to SAT scores. For example, if a student received a total score of 900 on the PSAT, the student would have received that same score on the SAT if he or she had taken the SAT on that same day.
Score Report and Online Tools
Students who included an email address on their test booklets received an email December 10-12th containing their full online report. If no email address was added, students can create an account at http://studentscores.collegeboard.org and enter the access code from the paper home report.
