IN THE HEIGHTS is a groundbreaking musical created by Latino American writers, featuring a musical score of rap, hip-hop, salsa, meringue and ballads. Three generations of Latinos from New York’s Washington Heights, a Hispanic barrio, struggle to decide what traditions to continue and which ones to leave behind. As pressures from the outside world mount, bodega owner, Usnavi, discovers that he has sold a winning lottery ticket and the residents of Washington Heights dream of their futures.
