Resolving Incomplete Grades from School Year 2019/2020

As we begin the 2nd week of the 2020-2021 school year, we want to make sure students have the chance to resolve any Incomplete (I) grades from the 2019-2020 school year.  If applicable,  please take a moment to review the information below:
  • Students who did not complete their work in Q4 of last school year must complete their Recovery of Learning Packet and the 2 PART SUBMISSION PROCESS before September 30, 2020.

  • Students with incompletes in Q4, who did not complete the packet, will have the "I" converted to an "N/A."  This is particularly important for any student who earned a grade of "E" in Q3.  Students with an "E" in Q3 and "N/A" in Q4 will fail the class for the year and not earn credit.
  • Packets were mailed in early July to all students who had a grade of Incomplete in Q4 with a few minor exceptions.
  • Students were instructed to return them via email or US Mail to the Board of Education building.
  • There is still an opportunity to get a new packet, complete it, and turn it in before September 30.
  • Staff will be reaching out to families who have a student with a Q4 grade of incomplete, who are at risk of not earning credit for the class if they do not complete the packet.
Accessing a New Packet:
  • An electronic packet has been shared with your child in their Google Drive.  Have them check "Shared with Me."
If it is not there, email Ms. Whiddon jennifer_whiddon@hcpss.org
2 STEP PROCESS to RECEIVE CREDIT:   Step 1: Return the Packet
  • If the child wrote on the hard copy of the packet, the easiest thing to do is to drop it off at Long Reach.  There is a bin outside the front entrance, labeled "Packets."  We will deliver them to Central Office on or before September 30.
  • Alternatively, the student can take pictures of the pages of the packet or scan the packet and email them to rolreturn@hcpss.org
Step 2: Notify the School System That the Packet Has Been Turned In Help is available for students who need assistance in completing the packet.  Stay tuned for announcements later this week about our after school program!
