From the Desk of the Principal 9/30

Dear LRHS Community,

This past Thursday, Mrs. Reyes-Leiva, our Hispanic Achievement Liaison, along with many parent volunteers provided an incredible lunch to the LRHS staff. Latin American dishes originating from Guatemala, Columbia, Honduras and many more countries were served. This event was to commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month.  I would like to personally thank Mrs. Reyes-Leiva and our parent volunteers for providing such an amazing experience. This event serves as a reminder of how grateful I am to be part of such a diverse and amazing school community.

Our Homecoming Weekend and 20th Year Celebration will be from October 14-15.  On Saturday (10/15) morning, October 15th, our PTSA will be hosting a Homecoming pancake breakfast prior to the football game. Our PTSA is in need of volunteers for this event, if you are interested in helping, please click on the link below to sign up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054faba62aa46-homecoming

As part of our 20th year celebration, the Long Reach High School PTSA is offering all current and alumni LRHS families and LRHS staff the opportunity to buy an engraved brick(s) for placement in the front of the school near the main entrance door.  The order form can be downloaded by clicking on the link below or on our website.

#LRHSpride:

  • On Saturday, Long Reach Cross Country competed in an invitational at Stevenson University. The girls placed 2nd in their division, and boys placed 7th in their division!
  • Mr. Jamie Willis was named Baltimore Touchdown Club’s Coach of the week! Our varsity team is currently ranked #2 in Howard County and are 4-0 entering tonight’s game against Centennial High School.  Go Lightning!

Sincerely,

Joshua R. Wasilewski
