Attendance Information for Parents

How do you communicate to Long Reach when your child is absent/sick?

You may either send an e-mail to LRHSattendance@hcpss.org or you can send in a note with your child.  Notes or e-mails must be sent within two days of absence and must contain the student’s first and last name, date of absence(s), reason for absence, and parent/guardian signature (if a hard copy note). Hard copy notes should be placed in the black tray on Ms. DeVore’s desk in the front office.  You do not need to call the school when your child is absent.

What are the procedures for dismissals?

Parents/Guardians or Emergency contacts must present identification (driver’s license) to a secretary in the front office to dismiss a student from class.

Do you receive any notification when your child is absent or tardy?

Yes. Parents will receive an e-mail and phone call.  E-mails are sent at 11 am from the Student Information System (Synergy) if your child was absent or tardy from school. A phone call will be made by an automatic system starting at 6:00 pm if your child was absent or tardy unexcused.
