Taste of Long Reach, March 1, 2019

Please join the Long Reach Boosters for their biggest fundraising of the year: the Taste of Long Reach on Friday, March 1 at Ten Oaks Ballroom in Clarksville. It will be a fun evening of great food and beverages from area restaurants and caterers, and an opportunity to mingle with staff members, other parents and friends in the Long Reach community.

PSAT Scores Sent Home Last Week

Parents, On October 10, 2018, all 10th- and 11th-graders took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and all 9th-graders took the Preliminary SAT 8/9 test. Your student’s results are being sent home starting last week.

OutReach Begins 2/5/2019

Do you need help to improve your grades in English 9, English 10, or Biology? Are you an ELL student who needs help in any of your subjects? If this sounds like you, then sign up for OutReach Session 2. OutReach Session 2 will begin on Tuesday, February 5 and end on Thursday, April 4.

Senior Banners now available!

The last months of school are always a big deal, especially when you’re saying goodbye to graduating seniors. Celebrate their achievements while supporting LRHS PTSA’S AFTER PROM PARTY! Our PTSA is selling congratulatory banners for graduating seniors and school groups. Banners are delivered direct to the school and will be proudly displayed throughout the building the last months of school. They will be distributed to students or groups just in time for graduation. Banners are great keepsakes for seniors and make an outstanding decoration at a graduation party! The 36x24” vinyl banners include a welded finish with grommets and are for both indoor and outdoor use. They are flexible, tear-resistant, weather-proof and are printed with vibrant fade-resistant ink.

AP Exam Registration & Celebration

Today we celebrated Long Reach’s current AP Students and presented important information about the 2019 AP Exams. See below for the 2018 AP Scholars. AP Scholars were awarded AP Scholar hats to celebrate their academic achievement. Registration for exams begins February 4th and ends March 15th. Students must submit a signed copy of their registration, along with payment, to Ms. Oster in the front office.

Cyber Security Workshop for High School Students

Do you have a child in high school who might be interested in computer security? APL is hosting a 2-week, hands-on cybersecurity workshop for high school students (grades 9-11) to provide students with an introduction to cybersecurity. No programming experience is required. The summer program will run July 15-26, 2019, in APL Cafeteria 1, 4-6 p.m., Monday-Friday. The course fee is $15 to cover computer lab costs and course materials. Registration is available via the course website:https://hscybersecurity.org. All application materials are due by April 15.
